Our group has been teaching and promoting capoeira in Sheffield since 2005. We are dedicated to this unique Afro-Brazilian art-form that blends movement, dance and music. Our group started with the University of Sheffield Capoeira Society and has grown to provide classes across different locations in Sheffield for both adults and children. Yet we still work closely with the university society, teaching classes for students, performing demonstrations and sharing our capoeira community.

SOSA-XA! based in Sheffield is currently led by Keithu Motlogwa who was a member for many years. We are so fortunate he lives in Sheffield and is willing to put up with demanding volunteers. We do not have auditions. No need to read music. Just a willingness to learn how to sing in Southern African languages including Shona, Ndebele, Sotho etc. and to move around in harmony. We teach even beginners how to sing for healthy outcomes.
